Russian Railways sees October cargo loading rising 0.2%

SOCHI, Oct 2 (PRIME) -- Russian Railways expects its cargo loading to rise by 0.2% on the year in October, Commercial Director Alexei Shilo told reporters on Tuesday.

“We planned 3.495 million (tonnes per day). This is growth of 0.2%,” he said.

There are several tendencies. “The first trend is connected with contraction of our domestic transportation. Exports grew 5.5% in September, while internal transportation shrank 1.5%. Since we are finishing infrastructure maintenance, this is the situation. This is a conservative scenario on which we will base our actions,” he said.

On Monday, the company said its cargo loading rose 0.7% on the year to 104.5 million tonnes in September and 2.7% on the year to 962.3 million tonnes in January–September.
